The great diversity of La Grande île
At the crossroads of the Orient, Southeast Asia, Africa and Arabia, Madagascar is divided today into 18 clans from one region and another on the Grande Île. On the peninsula of Anjajavy it will be THE heirs to the kingdom of Sakalava who will welcome you.
A land of tolerance and consensus (Fihavanana), the Red Island honours its mixed ethnicity and absorbs western influences as well as those from the cultures of the contemporary world.
Protestants or Catholics, 75% of Madagascans are Christian; their religious practices mix ancestral traditions such as the cult of the dead, which remains very alive! And all the other religions of the world are welcomed.
Today the Malagasy language and French are spoken, the latter being the 2nd official language of the country.
